Hail, and Farewell

Due to full time work, summer (then regular) classes, and many other activities, I'm afraid that Humble Opinion will be winding-down operations.

Writing this blog has been an absolute pleasure. There is no doubt that Humble Opinion has informed NDP members and the public, challenged people's thoughts, and created a little discussion. All of those are good for democracy. Accidental Deliberations, Buckdog, and this blog (among others) have ushered in a new era of internet interaction relating to Saskatchewan politics. Progressive bloggers are, without doubt, the strongest online voice in the province. In fact, they are the only voice. Progressive bloggers are not afraid to question their respective parties, and for that they are honourable. The one or two right-wing bloggers in the province serve only to spread hate, slander, and shill for their political masters. They are horrible writers, and bad bloggers.

It is true that a small number of readers, from across Canada, email or phone me from time to time saying that they disagree with something I've written. If that didn't happen, than I wouldn't be doing a good job as a blogger. I appreciate feedback, and will surely miss the dialogue and debate sparked by past posts. Admittedly, I enjoy stirring the pot, and shall never apologize for it. If I didn't enjoy doing that every now and then, I would be a poor citizen.

Some of the highlights I'll remember (sans links, let's not get crazy, now):
  • Sask. Party hack Blaise Boehmer getting caught doing something he shouldn't have been doing;
  • Right-winger Lewis Robin trying to backtrack on comments he made in the Nipawin Journal;
  • One post about Twitter which caused me more headaches than I thought Twitter could;
  • Mitchell Anderson's excellent 5-part series;
  • When Fred Bradshaw tried to make political hay over an obscure blog post;
  • The time Humble O got 5000 hits on a single post (Heppner's ill-advised 9-11 "Pig Roast" poster);
  • Etc.

With that, hail and farewell!

The End....?
